Your key responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive total rewards strategy that aligns with our business strategy and supports EY's talent management initiatives
  • Proactively consult on the design, implementation, and administration of compensation strategies and compensation-related matters, including base salary and variable pay, across all parts of the business that align to the strategy.
  • Lead the evaluation and enhancement of employee benefits programs, including pension and savings plans, ensuring they meet the needs of our diverse workforce.
  • Manage the recognition programs that promote a culture of appreciation and engagement.
  • Manage short and long-term disability management policies and processes for employees and partners, ensuring effective support and compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Manage numerous vendor relationships, ensuring a high level of service and performance from external partners.
  • Conduct market research and benchmarking to ensure our total rewards offerings remain competitive within the industry.
  • Work collaboratively with EY Global teams on total rewards initiatives, ensuring alignment with global standards and practices, as applicable, while addressing local needs and regulations. Build a strong network with the other EY regions.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations related to compensation, benefits, and pension plans.
  • Assess the current portfolio of programs and develop recommendations based on market research and business needs, followed by leading an efficient implementation.
  • Foster a culture of transparency and communication regarding total rewards programs across the organization.
  • Lead a diverse team of Total Rewards professionals specializing in compensation, benefits, pension and disability management. Foster a team culture that is innovative, adaptable, and empowers all to contribute to the firm’s success.

Skills and attributes for success

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CCP, GRP) is preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in total rewards, compensation, and benefits management, with at least 8 years in a leadership role and leading a team.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement innovative total rewards strategies aligned with the needs across all parts of the business.
  • Strong interpersonal, listening, and communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels, especially senior leadership.
  • Proven relationship builder, skilled at networking with colleagues internally and externally, including managing senior consultants and vendors.
  • Strong knowledge of compensation, benefits, and pension regulations in Canada.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Experience making investment recommendations and decisions.
  • Experience in a professional services or consulting environment is an asset.
