The Cloud Infrastructure Build Project Manager is responsible for the build and decommissioning of a defined Infrastructure capacity (product) in a defined Data Center. An infrastructure product consists of servers, network, storage, back up and peripheral equipment. The product build is finished when all HW procurement, physical installation in the Data Center, configuration of the infrastructure and handover to consumer including acceptance is done. The role will lead multiple product builds in parallel.
The role reports to the Americas Head of Infrastructure build.
The responsibility includes:
- All planning and validation of the build
- The coordination, the driving and tracking / reporting of the different build execution steps
- The successful handover to consumer in time, expected costs and in quality.
- The role will work closely together with Infrastructure experts from Data Center, Order Management, Server, Network, Storage and Back up teams who execute the work within dedicated work centers.
Additional tasks are:
- Report to Infrastructure Management on status
- Close collaboration with the other Infrastructure teams and the consumer / customer of the infrastructure build product
- Contribute to planning and execution maturity / continuous improvements.
- Work along the rules defined and the tools given by Infrastructure build governance.
Required skills:
- Strong consumer / customer orientation, high quality, work focus and result / deliverable oriented thinking
- Ability to work in a globally distributed organization and eagerness to work with people of other cultures.
- Fluent Business English
- 2+ years of work experience within an IT Infrastructure environment
- Experience with reporting to upper line organization management
- Good communication skills
