What you'll do... As an Associate FinOps Engineer, you will contribute to driving cost efficiencies, cloud governance, and resource optimization within a fast-paced, evolving cloud environment. This entry-level role is designed for individuals passionate about cloud cost management and operational excellence, providing a strong foundation in FinOps principles and practices.
You will work alongside cross-functional teams, including Cloud Engineering, DevOps, and Finance, to ensure cloud infrastructure is optimized for cost, performance, and sustainability. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and eager to learn about cloud governance frameworks and FinOps best practices.

Cloud Usage Analysis
- Monitor and analyze cloud resource usage and spending patterns to identify inefficiencies and areas for cost optimization.
- Use real-time dashboards and analytics tools to provide actionable insights on cloud usage.
Governance Policy Implementation
- Assist in implementing automated policies for resource provisioning, tagging, and lifecycle management to align with governance standards.
- Collaborate with teams to ensure compliance with established tagging and resource management policies.
Optimization Initiatives
- Support efforts to right-size underutilized resources and recommend cost-effective architectural improvements.
- Contribute to initiatives for continuous optimization, including auto-scaling configurations and containerization strategies.
Collaboration and Accountability
- Work closely with application teams to promote a "You Build It, You Own It" culture, ensuring they take ownership of cloud costs and resource efficiency.
- Provide support and training to teams on FinOps tools and practices.
Automation Support
- Assist in the development and deployment of automation scripts and workflows for cloud cost management, such as identifying and decommissioning idle resources.
- Ensure automation processes allow for manual review and intervention when necessary.
Reporting and Visibility
- Generate regular reports summarizing resource utilization, cost-saving measures, and compliance with governance policies.
- Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs), such as resource utilization, policy compliance rates, and cost savings realized.
What you'll bring:
- Educational Background : Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Finance, or a related field. Equivalent experience will also be considered.
- Technical Skills :
- Basic understanding of cloud platforms (e.g. Azure or Google Cloud).
- Familiarity with cloud monitoring and cost management tools is a plus.
- Basic programming or scripting skills (e.g., Python, Bash, YAML) to support automation tasks.
- Soft Skills :
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating across technical and non-technical teams.
- A proactive mindset with a keen interest in cloud cost management and governance.
