THE POSITION
The Manager of the IndirectTax group covering Sales & Use and Property taxes, will oversee taxreporting and planning and leading tax audits to maximize tax savingsopportunities that contribute to shareholder value while fulfilling taxpayment, compliance and reporting obligations.
- Tax Audits and Controversies:
- Evaluate requests for information from government officials and participate in developing strategies to successfully defend tax filing positions.
- Lead the coordination and implementation of audit strategies.
- Stay abreast of legal developments and industry positions to accurately evaluate options and responses to requests for information.
- Planning Activities:
- Develop tax planning strategies, including sales & use and property tax planning which maximize savings on a defensible basis.
- Review tax research and proposed transactions to properly advise management of sales & use and property tax consequences.
- Manage the sales & use and property tax integration of business acquisitions, dispositions and restructurings.
- Tax Return Compliance:
- Manage accurate reporting of the sales & use and property tax returns prepared and reviewed by the internal and external compliance teams.
- Review alternative tax positions in order to determine the most appropriate cost-effective filing position.
- Manage sales & use and property tax compliance processes and disclosures for Honeywell’s financial statements.
- Support technology and process improvements to improve the tax return compliance process.
- Financial Reporting:
- Manage the accurate preparation of Honeywell’s sales & use and property tax expense for financial statement purposes.
- Evaluate uncertain tax reporting positions and business combinations in order to properly reflect the tax treatment of such items in Honeywell’s financial statements.
- Contribute to Honeywell’s Sarbanes-Oxley process for financial reporting purposes.
- Analyze the tax aspects of financial projections and forecasts.
- Support technology and process improvements to ensure accurate, timely information provided to Honeywell financial reporting group.
- Leadership and Teamwork:
- Mentor and develop tax professionals and coordinate closely with the larger tax group and others including Government Relations on planning, compliance and reporting matters.
- Coordinate and consult with other Solstice Advanced Materials tax professionals.
- Manage and direct external tax advisors on a project-by-project basis.

YOU MUST HAVE
- Bachelor’s Degree in tax or accounting
- 8+ years of state tax experience

- Solid GAAP Financial Accounting/ASC 740 knowledge
- Excellent business acumen with a sound understanding of the tax implications of a multi-national manufacturing company
