Coordinate with other engineers and manage complete manufacturing line projects with multiple work centers
Develop line layouts
Develop specifications and RFQ's for custom automation equipment
Develop equipment testing plans and validate new equipment and fixtures for production implementation
Collaborate with internal and external equipment integrators on custom automation equipment design
Drive design of production workstations for ergonomics and efficiency
Oversee equipment installation and coordinate with building and utilities team
Ramp new production equipment to meet the designed throughput and handoff to sustaining production team
What You’ll Bring
Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Mechatronics Engineering, or equivalent experience
2-3 years of manufacturing engineering experience
Experience developing and validating (SPC, Gage R&R, DOE etc.) new BIW manufacturing processes for large companies with production capacity over 100,000 units per year or more
Experience with industrial engineering concepts—such as line balancing and timing charts—on manufacturing lines producing 1,000 or more assemblies per week
Experience transitioning vehicle products from low volume prototypes to large-scale production
Experience solving problems related to Overall Equipment Effectiveness (Availability, Yield, Performance)
Understanding of manufacturing equipment safety systems (Safety PLCs, safety category requirements, robot safety, safety guarding, light curtains, LOTO, etc)
Experience developing layouts in AutoCAD
Experience designing mechanical equipment, fixturing, and tooling in CAD (SolidWorks preferred, Catia is also a plus)
