As a Sr. Unit Manager at Capital One, you will lead multiple functions/teams within the Vehicle Resolutions Channel, consisting of front line associates at various levels. This role will be responsible for the replevin and associated legal strategy operational processes and execution along with other designated functions supporting repo operations. Creating excitement, maintaining high levels of morale, and leading optimistically through change are essential for leaders within Capital One. Sr. Unit Managers manage, lead, develop, coach and motivate multiple direct report leaders and ~25-60 non-exempt associates indirectly.
General Responsibilities:
Consistently meet or exceed all performance objectives
Lead teams of typically 25-60 associates
Provide continuous feedback and coaching to improve and maintain high quality customer experience, effectiveness and efficiency metrics
Build and maintain an engaging culture of inclusion, empowerment, and enablement
Develop direct reports to live out the Capital One Leadership Profile and to grow into effective coaches
Prepare and deliver monthly performance reviews for direct reports
Consistently monitor and manage metrics daily/weekly/monthly
Own performance and report out monthly in experience level MBR to review business results
Motivate and develop associates and help them achieve their career aspirations.
Work autonomously and problem solve independently whenever possible, leveraging team and business partners on more complex problems
Manage budget, staffing, performance, local ops strategy and roadmap and drive roadmap throughout the year
Manage performance and relationships with multiple law firm vendors
Come into the Plano office when needed for affidavit signing or when other business needs require it or when asked to do so (typically 1 day per week but subject to change)
Travel when required for in-person court hearings or other applicable visits or travel as needed by the business (estimated <10% travel)
Represent Capital One in virtual or in-person court hearings when required for replevin court proceedings
Define and measure performance metrics (incentives, monthly scorecards, annual appraisal) and clearly communicate to team associates
Basic Qualifications:
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent certification
At least 3 years of experience in People Management or vendor management experience
At least 3 years of auto finance experience
At least 3 years of Google Suite or Microsoft Office experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree or Military Experience
At least 5 years experience in People Management
At least 3 years experience in Process Management
At least 5 years of auto finance experience
Lean, Six Sigma certification
