Due to our expanding portfolio and long-term framework expansion, we have an immediate need for experienced Security Design Engineers specialising in Building Services Engineering. You will be responsible for both the support of multi-disciplinary project teams as well as client facing work. You’ll need to be able to demonstrate professionalism and an inquisitive approach, showing a desire to explore innovative ideas while still understanding the need for a good commercial balance.
We are seeking strategic thinkers who can coordinate the designs of Building Services and CNI projects, providing an oversight of the project performance alongside an appreciation of quality assurance and business management. You should have considerable experience working within the Security Systems sector, ideally in Building Services Engineering Design within a Consultancy, coupled with sound working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit MEP plus industry standard design software.
You’ll be coordinating project delivery and acting as mentor / coach to more junior project members so being able to comfortably support the team whilst maintaining standards in work and efficiency is vital. You’ll work across all RIBA stages from Feasibility to Project Handover for Construction and engaging with clients, partners and subcontractors.
The role requires excellent client engagement experience, communication and report / specification writing skills, ability to disseminate project briefs and exposure to working alongside multi-disciplinary design teams and partners.
Opportunities are available with a Hybrid working pattern in Birmingham, London, Manchester and Bristol.
- Considerable experience in Security Systems design for buildings and facilities, with a strong understanding of integrating those systems into a cohesive ICT and wider facility design solutions
- Demonstrable experience in designing the following systems:
- Video Surveillance Systems (CCTV and VSS)
- Electronic Access Control Systems
- Intruder Detection Systems (IDS and PIDS)
- Security Management Systems
- Signalling and Communications Systems
- Screening systems
- Understanding the role of physical security measures in securing and protecting personnel and assets, including HVM, gates, barriers, fences, and lighting
- Experience of working to NPSA and other UK, european and international standards for Security Design
- Experience of military / defence sector security measures would be advantageous
