Your responsibilities will include:
- Review and provide counsel regarding restrictive covenants and employment agreements
- Communicate on behalf of company regarding restrictive covenants and employment agreements
- Provide legal advice and counsel to the business relating to employment issues, including hiring, termination, reductions in force, performance management, wage and hour, leaves and accommodations, and compliance with non-discrimination laws.
- Provide employment law support for due diligence and integration efforts relating to mergers and acquisitions
- Provide employment law support for Human Resources, Employee Relations, and Global Compliance investigations
- Respond on behalf of company to attorney demand letters and agency matters, including government-initiated inquiries and audits
- Partner with litigation counsel in employment litigation matters
- Draft separation agreements and negotiate with counsel as necessary
- Provide counsel on various human resources policies and programs, including diversity and inclusion efforts
Required qualifications:
- J.D.; admission to MN, MA or another state bar; in good standing in all jurisdictions where admitted
- 7+ years of relevant experience practicing employment law
- Strong command of employment laws, regulations, and best practices
- Experience handling non-compete and other restrictive covenant matters
- Excellent written and verbal communications, client relationships, and business acumen
- Must possess a strong work ethic; be creative, proactive, enthusiastic, flexible, self-directed, and highly ethical
Preferred qualifications:
- Prior litigation experience preferred
