As a within the Sam's Tech team, you'll be setting the technical vision of the Data Platform What you'll do:
- Mentor: Provide technical guidance and develop less-senior engineers through mentorship.
- Technical Leadership: Drive the design, development, and implementation of cutting-edge solutions for Sam's Data Platform team. This includes:
- Modernizing data infrastructure (e.g., storage patterns, compute patterns, metastore approaches)
- Implementing robust monitoring, alerting, and reporting systems
- Development of platform management capabilities
- Development of additional capabilities required (e.g., orchestration tools, profiling tools, etc.)
- Customer Focus: Prioritize customer experience in all aspects of platform interactions.
- Innovation: Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the team.
- Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams (product management, engineering, etc) to achieve shared goals.
- Technical Expertise: Stay abreast of the latest technologies and industry best practices in data platforms, data engineering, cloud, etc.
What you'll bring:
Proven senior-level experience as a Software Engineer leading data platform development activities.
Strong technical expertise in relevant areas, including:
- Cloud computing platforms (Azure, GCP, AWS), Kubernetes
- Data platform experience (Databricks, BigQuery, etc.)
- Data pipeline orchestration (Airflow preferred)
- Data architecture
- Data engineering
- Data management
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
- Passion for customer experience and a strong drive to exceed expectations

The annual salary range for this position is $130,000.00-$260,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include: - Stock
