You will also contribute to the architecture, design and implementation of top-level user facing features, with an emphasis on identifying components that can be used across different scenarios, domains and regions of the world.You should have in-depth experience developing large-scale relational database backed Java applications, with object-oriented expertise. An excellent understanding of relational databases and Java services are key, and Cassandra or other NoSQL knowledge are a plus. We partner with a variety of cross and multi-functional team members from a diverse array of other exciting groups across Apple.
Minimum Qualifications
- BS degree, preferably in Computer Science or related experience. MS or equivalent preferred.
- 5+ years in software development experience in Java, with a strong understanding of Object oriented concepts and design.
- Deep knowledge and experience using relational databases such as Oracle, and associated data architecture and modeling.
- Experience designing and implementing RESTful/RPC API and services.
- Strong production, debugging, and diagnostic skills.
- Experience working on complex problems and distributed systems where scalability and performance are extremely important (every millisecond counts), with an eye for engineering excellence.
- Able to thrive in a high trust environment with independence, while effectively collaborating with cross-Apple teams, hardware, software, and across diverse roles.
- Willing to take ownership and set direction, and thrive navigating any ambiguity in your projects.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience writing components/frameworks/libraries that achieve software leverage
- Experience working in a large code base in Java (many millions of lines of code)
- Experience with relational database frameworks like JDBC, and object relational frameworks like Hibernate, JPA, etc.
- Experience using NoSQL solutions like Cassandra, Voldemort, Memcached, etc.
- Experience writing unit and integration tests with frameworks such as JUnit, Mockito, etc.
- Experience with protocols like HTTP, HTTPS, SSL
- Experience with scalable message queue systems like Kafka, KubeMQ, RocketMQ is a plus.
Pay & Benefits
- At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $143,100 and $264,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Note: Apple benefit, compensation and employee stock programs are subject to eligibility requirements and other terms of the applicable plan or program.
