Provides recommendations and insight on data management, governance procedures, and intricacies applicable to the acquisition, maintenance, validation, and utilization of data
Designs and delivers trusted data collection, storage, access, and analytics data platform solutions in a secure, stable, and scalable way
Defines database back-up, recovery, and archiving strategy
Generates advanced data models for one or more teams using firmwide tooling, linear algebra, statistics, and geometrical algorithms
Approves data analysis tools and processes
Creates functional and technical documentation supporting best practices
Advises junior engineers and technologists
Evaluates and reports on access control processes to determine effectiveness of data asset security
Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Formal training or certification on Engineering and/or Cybersecurity concepts and 5+ years applied experience as a cloud engineer, deployment engineer, DevOps engineer, or equivalent role that involves deploying enterprise software to public cloud platforms.
Strong coding skills in languages commonly used in security applications, such as Python, Java, or C++
Expert level experience with data engineering tools such as Apache Kafka, Apache Spark, and ETL processes.
Experience is integrating security practices into the SDLC, including threat modeling, code reviews, and security testing.
Deep understanding of cloud security frameworks and SaaS architecture, including AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud security features.
Experience with security protocols such as TLS/SSL, OAuth, SAML, and OpenID Connect.
Advanced knowledge of linear algebra, statistics, and geometrical algorithms
