What skills and qualifications do I need?
For this role it is essential that you have:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field. CPA or other relevant certification strongly preferred.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience with 3+ years of people management experience preferably in a public company and/or public accounting firm
- High technical accounting skills, and strong knowledge of US GAAP and SOX
- Experience in a high-growth environment or industry
- Strong leadership aptitude; ability to mentor talent and foster career development
- Demonstrated ability to interface effectively with all levels of management and develop positive cross-functional working relationships
- Excellent project management, organizational, analytical and communication skills, with the ability to address both technical and non-technical audiences
- Candidate should be self-motivated and able to balance multiple priorities while managing to deadlines
- Ability to manage a flexible schedule to work with teams in different time zones
Nice to haves include:
- Experience in a global adtech, tech, or digital media environment
- Knowledge of NetSuite, ADP, and/or Salesforce
As an Assistant Controller, you will:
- Assist in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the accounting function in the US and Canada, leading and mentoring a team of 4 employees
- Manage the financial month-end closing process to ensure all required financial data is reconciled, documented and disclosed in a timely manner
- Prepare monthly revenue recognition schedules and the monthly analytical review of the financial statements while streamlining the month-end closing processes and maintaining a high degree of compliance
- Coordinate and assist with annual audit inquiries and ensure timely delivery of requested materials
- Assist in implementing, supporting and overseeing SOX compliance measures and implement new policies to meet departmental goals
- Partner with and maintain strong relationships with cross functional teams (Sales, Operations, HR and IT). Utilize strong communication skills and accounting acumen to support Taboola’s hypergrowth

The pay range for this position in California is $140,000 - $155,000. The pay offered may vary depending on several factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
