Uber FrontEnd Software Engineer

You will build the web interface for large scale software solutions which ensure Uber runs reliably and efficiently - in a team with people that want you to grow and succeed. Examples of what it means to be an engineer in our team:

1. Implement solutions using React, with a strong focus on clean, readable code with unit and integration test coverage - and run it in production.
2. Actively drive collaboration across multiple teams to create alignment and progress.
3. Take active part in code change peer-reviews to ensure quality and knowledge sharing across the team.
4. Contribute to engineering culture in terms of quality, monitoring and on-call practices.
5. Own part of the team’s charter and through that help setting longer term direction for the team.

Basic Qualifications

A typical engineer in our team fits the following profile. We expect you to have similar traits.

1. Self driven, team first, strong ownership.
2. 3+ years of relevant work in web development
3. Experience working with Product Design or UI/UX
4. User centric approach & the ability to understand users and solve their problems
5. Experience with Javascript and React
6. Attention to detail around good UX, as well as software engineering fundamentals, testing methodologies and quality
7. Good verbal and written communication skills. Experience writing design documents, documentation, post mortems, etc.

Preferred Qualifications

1. Experience building large distributed systems
2. Experience with running critical systems in production, how to monitor them and handle incidents.
3. Detailed problem-solving approach and knowledge of algorithms, data structures, and complexity analysis.
4. Extensive software design and development skills. Willingness to learn, and adapt to new technologies in a productive environment
5. Experience with containerization software such as Kubernetes or Docker.
6. Comfortable working with on-prem and cloud-based infrastructure (AWS, GCP).
