Job Purpose:

• We are looking for a Senior Technical Lead to head up a technical team, working on a strategic inventory platform used across multiple businesses within Markets.
• This role is a senior-level position responsible for establishing and implementing new or revised application systems in coordination with the Business Users, Product Managers and Software Engineers.
• The perfect candidate will have strong architecture, hands on coding and infrastructure skills, a proven track record of leading engineering teams with strong project management and operational skills to drive efficiency and speed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage Applications Development team to accomplish established goals as well as conduct personnel duties for team (e.g., performance evaluations or hiring)
• Build and maintain the multiple components of the platform ensuring timely delivery of work items
• Resolve variety of high impact problems/projects through in-depth evaluation of complex business processes, system processes, and industry standards
• Provide expertise in area and advanced knowledge of applications programming and ensure application design adheres to the overall architecture blueprint
• Develop comprehensive knowledge of how areas of business, such as architecture and infrastructure, integrate to accomplish business goals
• Provide in-depth exploration with interpretive thinking to define issues and develop innovative solutions
• Serve as advisor or coach to developers allocating work as necessary
• Ensure all team members are adhere to our code quality and testing standards
• Evaluate and perform POCs on new strategic technical products and applications

Skills & Qualifications:

• Significant hands-on experience in Application Development leveraging Java, Spring Boot and React including scalable backend services and API’s and rich frontend UI’s
• You have a minimum of 3 years of experience managing technical teams with a diverse skillset (e.g., backend engineers, full stack engineers, software engineers in test and system reliability engineers).
• Strong understanding inventory applications system design and modern architecture patterns including Microservices and Even Driven design
• Knowledge of messaging technologies Tibco Queue, Apache Kafka etc.
• Professional Experience using SQL DB technologies (Oracle, MS SQL, etc.) and good understanding of in memory caching and searching technologies (Hazelcast, Couchbase, etc)
• Previous experience deploying fault-tolerant distributed systems on Linux in a cloud environment and familiar with cloud computing concepts and DevOps tools (Docker, Kubernetes, Openshift)
• Knowledge of testing automation principles and frameworks (e.g. TDD, BDD, contract testing)
• High development standards under pressure, especially for code quality, code reviews, unit testing, continuous integration, and deployment
• You have an appetite for taking on challenges and leveraging new technologies
• You have experience working in fast paced development environments
• You agree that verbal and written communication skills are vital
