What You’ll Do
  • Design, develop, validate, and integrate end-to-end electrical hardware test solutions to support product development, testing, and manufacturing teams across Tesla (power electronics, motors, powertrain, battery, etc.)
  • Ownership of PCB electronics and electrical sub-systems, specifications, design, prototyping, validation testing, and system integration
  • Develop electrical schematics, BOM, harness drawings, system diagrams, etc.
  • Cross-functional collaboration with Mechanical, Software, Firmware, Regulatory, Testing, Manufacturing, Build and Operations teams
  • Test equipment bring-up, commissioning, root cause analysis and troubleshooting field issues at various Tesla locations globally
  • Create documentation for test equipment certification, operation, and maintenance
  • Coach and mentor other Engineers, Interns, and Technicians to develop their technical skills and experience
What You’ll Bring
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering and 5-7 years of experience, or equivalent experience

  • Hands-on hardware design, testing, and debugging experience in power electronics (AC/DC, DC/DC, DC/AC converters) and low-power analog, digital circuits
  • Experience working with high-voltage and high-power systems
  • Experience in PCB layout with signal integrity, noise, and EMI considerations (Altium experience preferred)
  • Experience with modeling and circuit simulation tools such as MATLAB-Simulink, LTspice, etc. Experience with test automation and data analysis in NI LabVIEW, Python, etc.
  • Experience with embedded programming (microcontrollers, DSP, etc.) and digital communication protocols (CAN, RS-485, SPI, I2C, etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of dynos, motors, drives, power systems, and switchgear components
  • Good understanding of design for manufacturing (DFM), FMEA tools/process, and quality control
  • Awareness of UL and CE electrical safety requirements, NEC and international installation codes, and EMC requirements relevant to the design of power converters
  • Knowledge in environmental, reliability, and safety requirements for Automotive, Industrial, and Residential applications
