US – Tax – National Tax - Tax and Finance Operate (TFO) and Global Operations – Implementation and Transition – Manager

Our TFO practice provides the processes, technology, and people for functional outsourcing, enabled by leading-edge technology and client platforms. Our quality service and technical network enable you to help clients reduce inefficiencies, mitigate risk, and drive process improvement within their tax and finance functions. Your key responsibilities

Your role will focus on establishing relationships with client personnel at appropriate levels while working to consistently deliver exceptional client service across the implementation and transition of the global tax processes and related technology. Additionally, you may be tasked with the management of the various processes within the global TFO engagement, including:

  • Teaming across service lines and technical specialties, and country teams

  • Developing and executing integrated (cross-services) implementation and transition workplans

  • Mobilizing global delivery capability and standardized process implementation

  • Implementing and transforming the tax operating model (people, process, technology, data), governance structure and reporting protocols

  • Monitoring progress, managing risk, maximizing operational efficiencies, and making sure that key stakeholders are kept informed about progress and expected outcomes

  • Working with client and global EY team to set the strategy for the successful transfer of Managed Services to EY from the client, including standing up operational processes

  • Working with client and global EY team to develop the implementation scope of services and approach related to moving the function(s) from the client environment to EY. This includes but is not limited to knowledge transfer, technology and tool implementation, identification of data requirements, process changes and day 1 readiness criteria

  • Managing the operating governance structure and reporting protocols comprising of global implementation management, tax data operations and commercial management

To qualify for the role, you must have:

  • A bachelor's degree in a related field and a minimum of five years of related work experience

  • Approved technical certification, CPA license or membership to state Bar or progress to attaining those mentioned

  • Strong team, project, and people management skills with an ability to work under tight deadlines

  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, and written/verbal communication skills, as well attention to detail and an entrepreneurial approach to work

  • Effective organization and time management skills with the ability to work under pressure and adhere to project deadlines

  • Ability to lead global virtual and on-site teams, mentor counselees and manage client-serving business

  • Strong proficiency and a high level of comfort working with new and emerging technologies

  • Strong organizational and time management skills with a demonstrated ability to capture and synthesize business requirements

  • Commercial management of contract, budget and change management

Ideally, you'll also:

  • Demonstrate professionalism through a positive and cooperative attitude and by maintaining the confidential and proprietary nature of client relationships and related work products

  • High-level understanding of the various compliance and reporting services with a preferred deep understanding of one or more

  • Take ownership of tasks and have the proper judgment to make critical decisions

  • Have a strong ability to work under pressure and adhere to strict deadlines

  • Contribute to the overall success of the team by developing a thorough understanding of EY methodologies and tools to enhance implementation and transition, keep team members informed of work status, actively seek assignments when unassigned, challenge traditional procedures used in the past, and attempt to find new approaches and opportunities for process improvement

  • Coach/mentor junior team members to help EY continue to build an inclusive culture and high-performing teams

  • Have advanced Microsoft Excel skills and program management experience

  • We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $102,600 to $188,000. The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $123,100 to $213,700. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.
  • Join us in our team-led and leader-enabled hybrid model. Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year.
