Description
You will oversee all aspects of our cloud compute services, including infrastructure, software, and operations (in close collaboration with our SRE partners), with a specific emphasis on optimizing Virtual Machines, Kubernetes, Containers, and Batch Workloads. Technical Oversight: Provide technical expertise and guidance on cloud computing architectures, systems design and performance optimization. Ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of these platforms.Project Management: Manage complex projects, including major initiatives and product launches, ensuring timely delivery within budget constraints.Industry Trends: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, technologies, and best practices in cloud computing. Protect our intellectual property and ensure compliance with data protection regulations.
Minimum Qualifications
- 15+ years of overall industry experience with 10+ years building & leading high-performing research & engineering teams with a focus on on cloud computing
- Deep experiences working across one or more platforms focused on Virtualization, Kubernetes, Containers, and Batch technologies
- Experience with cloud platforms like AWS (EC2, ECS, EKS, AWS Batch), Azure (Virtual Machines, AKS, and Azure Batch), or Google Cloud (GCE, GKE and Cloud Batch) is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with all aspects of software development from architecture to deployment and maintenance
- Understanding of cloud computing architectures, systems design and performance optimization.
- Strong understanding of concurrency, parallelism, and distributed systems concepts
- Fluency in Go (Golang), Python, Swift, Java or similar languages in a systems context
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent
- Experience operating large-scale multi-tenant infrastructure as a managed service
- In-depth knowledge of algorithms and distributed system architectures. Familiarity with workload scheduling
- Strong systems programming skills and knowledge of operating system fundamentals.
Pay & Benefits
- At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $219,300 and $378,700, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Note: Apple benefit, compensation and employee stock programs are subject to eligibility requirements and other terms of the applicable plan or program.
