What you will do:
As an FRR / Control Plane Engineer, you'll join an agile team engaged in the design, development and testing of the Control Plane required for the Cisco 8000 platforms utilizing experience listed in the basic and preferred qualifications listed below.
Basic Qualifications:
- MS/BS degree in CS/EE/CE or technical equivalent.
- 8-12+ years’ of related work experience.
- Software development experience using C, C++ and/or Python.
- Experience developing routing protocol stack in vendor NOS or in open-source networking stacks like FRR, Quagga.
- Proficient in routing protocols and technologies including multicast routing (PIM, IGMPv2, IGMPv3, mVPN etc), BGP, OSPF, IS-IS and controller-based technologies.
- Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience and/or knowledge of Segment Routing, L2VPN and EVPN technologies, BIER and Controller based Solutions.
- IETF experience and influence in the industry.
- Packet forwarding operating systems internals, algorithms, and computer architecture.
- Strong understanding of MPLS Technologies, including LDP, RSVP-TE.
- Experience with MPLS based VPNs (MVPN, L3VPN, L2VPN).
- GIT, Jira, Jenkins and CI/CD pipeline tools.
- Virtualization and container technologies including KVM/Qemu, Docker and/or Kubernetes.
- Leadership Experience.
