The Chief Process Advisor will advise with regards to thedetailed checkout, precommissioning activities, heater and reactor circuitdryout, catalyst and/or adsorbent loading, startup, initial operation andtesting of the unit, as well as providing instruction and direction to theoperating staff. The UOP Chief Advisorwill have the overall on site responsibility for ensuring that UOP'scommissioning, startup, and initial operations services are fully executed.Before the completion of construction, the Chief ProcessAdvisor will compare and evaluate the specifications of the supplied equipmentwith those specified in the UOP Schedule A Package, Piping and InstrumentationDiagrams, and various UOP Standard Specifications and Drawings. This detailed examination procedure willenable the Chief Process Advisor to identify, evaluate and provide advice toavoid problems that could interfere with a smooth startup and successfulperformance of the Process Unit.As the checkout is being completed, the UOP Chief ProcessAdvisor will provide direction for the development and implementation of aprecommissioning program. Activitiescarried out during this phase of the startup will include hydrostatic testing,water flushing, leak testing, pump and compressor run in, refractory dryout,high temperature field tests, inspection, catalyst loading, and instrument loopchecking.After completion of the precommissioning phase, the UOPChief Process Advisor will review and evaluate the startup schedule and offeradvice on possible improvements. TheChief Process Advisor will provide operating instructions to Operations andEngineering staffs to ensure that they have knowledge of the UOP procedures forstartup, normal operations, and shutdown, and that they understand UOP'srecommended procedures for handling emergency situations in a safe andefficient manner.Once initial startup has occurred, the UOP Chief ProcessAdvisor will advise on the daily operation of the unit and recommendadjustments to optimize unit performance. The Chief Process Advisor will establish process guidelines to line outand prepare the unit for a successful performance test. The performance testwill verify the unit's ability to achieve the yields represented by UOP duringthe design phase and will serve as a benchmark against which future processunit performance can be compared.A detailed study of the unit may also be conducted duringthis period. The study may include calculations of product yields and catalystactivity/selectivity. The unit can be evaluated from both a process andhydraulic viewpoint, thus establishing a base condition that would be useful introubleshooting and planning future expansions.BE- Chemical with 4+ years of exp in oil and gas industries.
