We are looking for a Senior Project Manager (Electrical) at our Los Angeles, CA location to perform work such as analysis, surveillance, and inventory of a variety of Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and highway electrical installations, and to manage multiple electrical projects during design and construction. You will also utilize your expertise to perform configuration and calibration for the initial commissioning of TMS elements to ensure optimal performance of the State Highway System. To ensure success in this role, you will apply your knowledge of engineering fundamentals and safety regulations to ensure the project is being designed and constructed in full compliance with contract documents.
A Senior Electrical Project Manager works under the direction of an Area Project Manager/Supervisor, and will assume the following functional responsibilities:
• Performs key electrical and system engineering/integration tasks to support the real- time central management systems and related hardware and software.
• Performs and develops the Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), project delivery for the State Highway System.
• Performs quality assurance inspections to achieve compliance with contract plans and specifications on the civil and electrical work.
• Performs quantity calculations and measurements for progress pay estimates, keeps daily project records, and responds to client and stakeholder inquiries.
• Performs labor compliance interviews as needed.
• Assists with the preparation, analysis, and draft or review of the contract change orders.
• Assists with the review of the Critical Path Method (CPM) Schedule analysis.

• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical engineering or related
• Registration as a Professional Electrical Engineer in the State of California (PE)
• 20+ years of relevant electrical inspections and construction management experience on highway construction projects
• Must have a strong understanding of Caltrans Standard Plans and Standard Specifications
• Valid California Driver’s License
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds as needed in the field environment
• Ability to walk on construction sites, including walking up and down slopes, climbing ladders, and walking on scaffolding and other temporary structures.
• Willingness to work at odd hours, and be available for day or night calls
Ideally, you will have:
• Knowledge of Caltrans Construction Manual and Caltrans Local Assistance Procedures Manual
• Knowledge of State Transportation Management Centers (TMC) and its ITS activities
• Knowledge of Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) requirements
• Knowledge of construction practices, physical characteristics, and properties of roadway
