In this role, you will be a part of a small, highly skilled team at the heart of thermal design applying your vast set of mechanical design skills to lead design efforts for cooling fans and thermal modules.
Product design engineer responsible for developing heat pipe vapor, chamber and fin stack hardware used in thermal management of system. Generate concepts, create CAD models, prototype, and test to drive design down-selection. Design may encompass mechanical parts, thermal solutions, or other pieces that ensure product-level performanceCollaborate with many different groups to complete our work including Thermal Design engineers to optimize thermal modules for performance for various power loads. Provide guidance to Architecture, Thermal and System Product Design teams for module sizing, system integration considerations, performance testing and verification, etc. Partner with external vendors & internal operations teams to optimize designs for function and manufacturability. Ensure design meets reliability requirements throughout its lifecycle and perform failure analyses. Design, fabricate, and provide functional requirements for assembly and test fixtures.
  • BSME Degree
  • 3+ years of 3D CAD mechanical part design experience in any of the following: injection molding, stamping, forging, die casting, CNC, etc.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% internationally.
  • MSME
  • 2D mechanical drawing layout experience, familiarity with GD&T or SPC or Cp/Cpk.
  • Experience with Unigraphics or Solid Works or Creo or ProE, etc.
  • Fundamental knowledge of heat transfer and statics.
  • Prior design experience with thermal modules or vapor chambers is a major plus.
