As a Field Communications Associate supporting the Consumer Banking line of business you will have superior writing, research and organizational skills, with a gift for telling stories in a concise, written format. In addition you will possess a strong understanding of what makes for compelling and interesting content. You will work with key business leaders to imagine, develop and execute communication strategies and provide editorial feedback to writers on the team. You will build and manage relationships, plus exercise strong editorial judgment in evaluating communication approaches.
Job responsibilities:
- Assist in the editorial process, supporting our team of writers to help guide when communication is needed (and when it isn't) through the Change Management and communication request processes.
- Manage editorial calendars through an intake queue (including assigning articles to writers and going back to submitters for more information) and editorial meetings. Back up Managing Editor with additional editorial responsibilities as needed.
- Provide support for urgent communications (e.g., system issues, severe weather events), providing guidance on when and how to communicate and owning the communications when needed.
- Organize feedback forums to connect with branch teams to understand how we can make our communications better.
- Own a book of work of "run the engine" communications.
- Assist with the organization and presentation of readership data as needed.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills::
- 3+ years of professional writing experience with a Bachelors degree in communications or relevant field
- Superior writing skills with versatility in format, including news and headline writing, feature writing, technical writing, instructional writing and copy editing.
- Expertise in Microsoft Word, Teams and PowerPoint.
- Must be a quick study of complex or technical topics and be able to simplify those concepts into clear, precise writing.
- Self-motivated and comfortable working on tight deadlines.
- Must be able to produce urgent / crisis communications on demand, and be able to work weekend support as needed.
- Must be focused, accurate and organized.
- Ability to work collaboratively and effectively in a group setting and communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to recognize and respond well to changing priorities.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- Retail branch or financial services experience.
- Familiarity with AP Style and/or the Voice of Chase.
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft SharePoint and/or Microsoft Excel.
