• Development, calibration, and interpretation of water distribution, wastewater, and stormwater models
• Use models to understand system performance and help the design of system improvements and enhancements
• Evaluate, select, and apply standards of advanced engineering and modeling techniques
• Use models for master planning and conceptual studies
• Sewer evaluation studies involving RDII analysis and development of flow monitoring programs
• Field work planning for water distribution model calibration and validation, including fire flow testing and pressure monitoring
• Water quality and transient modeling • Engage in programming, statistical analysis, and data research
• Analyzing, managing, and interpreting data using GIS software
• Perform technical writing and client presentations to convey key messages, derived from complex technical documentation, in a simple and clear manner • Participate in our global technical communities of practice in collection system modeling, distribution system modeling, wet weather management, stormwater, and system optimization • QA of models, reports, and deliverables
Required Skills and Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in Georgia or ability to obtain via comity
• 10+ years of professional experience • Experience and in-depth knowledge of modeling software. Sample programs include InfoWorks ICM, InfoSWMM, SewerGEMs, XPSWMM, PCSWMM, Mike Urban, EPASWMM, InfoWater, WaterGEMs, HAMMER, AFT Fathom, InfoWorks WS and EPANet
• Understanding of hydraulic systems and modelling outputs • Working knowledge of GIS tools (ArcGIS)
• Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively, both internally and externally
• Active involvement in mentoring and professional development (of self and others)
• Proficiency in writing and reviewing technical reports to convey key messages in a simple and clear manner
• Ability to effectively communicate, verbally and in writing, with clients and geographically disperse project staff using online platforms
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
• Graduate degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
• Conveyance and/or pump design
• Transient analysis
• Experience of programming languages such as Python Scripting for GIS and Visual Basic for Excel
• Prior project management experience or interest in growing into technical project management of modeling projects
