What a typical day looks like:
- Collaborate with site leadership and engineering teams to develop forecasted strategies for space utilization at manufacturing and support facilities across the Austin region, analyzing capacities and providing assessments of capabilities for use in various what-if scenarios.
- Design process and equipment floor layouts per specific customer and site initiatives, using engineering principles to optimize product, information, and people flows. Coordinate with engineering teams and SMEs to develop specifications for utility distribution, assess current capacities and produce CAD documentation for required modifications.
- Interface with electrical, mechanical, and architectural trades to create project budgets and timelines for facility transformation projects; establish priorities for key support contractors, balancing daily workload with major project deliverables. Provide engineering evaluation for change orders during construction and installation phases. Execute based on commitments to our customers, maintaining quality and efficiency of facility resources.
- Maintain site reference CAD materials that support operations, human resources, fire life & safety, etc. Update manufacturing as-built equipment layouts and become SME for utilization and capabilities across all areas. Support daily site operations through ownership of the facility work request system, assigning resources and arranging material purchases as needed.
- Support facility maintenance operations & engineering teams through critical site infrastructure initiatives. Consult on capabilities and relay new utility requirements for manufacturing, addressing any potential gaps in utilities and services. Provide direction for shared resources, working together across disciplines to prioritize work in full support of key initiatives.
