Responsibilities
- Prepare and Publish yearly application Release plan
- Ensure that upstream/downstream application teams are in line with the yearly release plan
- Ensure internal and external communication about the incidents/service requests/changes impacting the application landscape.
- Co-ordination with TI teams for web admin / MQ / database changes across test & Production environments.
- Hands on experience in any of the major payments processing system.
- Ensuring the Access controls are in place across all controlled environments
- Identify TOM & Infrastructure Vulnerabilities
- Ensured risk compliance as per GIS standards and met all norms as per the audit requirements
- Manage risks and resolves issues that affect release scope, schedule and quality
- Measure and monitor progress to ensure application releases are delivered on time and within budget, and that they meet or exceed expectations
- Coordinate release content and effort based on the service request backlog, pending service requests, third party applications, or operating system updates
- Communicate all key project plans, commitments, and changes including requirements, QA plans, schedule, and scope changes
- Conduct Release Readiness reviews, Milestone Reviews, and Business Go/No-Go reviews
- Produce Deployment, Run Books and Implementation Plans
- Communicate release details and schedules to the Business as required
- Negotiate, plan and manage all release activities
- Work with release engineers to understand impacts of branches and code merges
- Maintains the release schedule for all core services and ensure alignment across key partners and vendors.
- Continually work towards making improvements in the release process
- Lead and co-ordinate the Go-Live activities including the execution of the deployment Plans and checklists.
- Publish and Coordinate change freeze schedules and exception process with stakeholders to avoid last minute changes to the environment.
- Participate in CAB meetings to discuss release scope and/or roadblocks
- Maintains a release repository and manages key information such as build and release procedures, dependencies, and notification lists
Requirements
Education:B.E. / B. Tech/M.E. /M. Tech/B.Sc./M.Sc./BCA/MCA (prefer IT/CS specialization)
Certifications, If Any:NA
: 8 to 12 years
Foundational skills:
- Experience in Release orchestration tools like XL Release/Cutover or similar tools.
- Experience in handling large scale multi-tiered application releases and/or project management experience, (Solid understanding of project management principles preferred)
- Experience in Deployment and Environment Management
- Experience and exposure in middleware technologies [JBOSS, WebSphere and WebLogic] and DevOps tools [Ansible, JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket, Jenkins, Artifactory]
- Experience in performing DevOps role (Environment Provisioning, Continuous Deployment, Application Deployment and Orchestration)
- Experience in organizing and documenting workflows and process for corporate system architecture.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to co-ordinate with multiple stakeholders during a release and able to take appropriate decisions in a timely manner.
- Aware of the escalation matrix for the supported application and raise flags accordingly.
- Ability to learn new tools & technologies quickly with a willingness to work in a flexible schedule to support extended-release windows.
- Organizational skills with the ability to track and prioritize numerous tasks with Problem solving skills and technical judgment.
Desired skills:
- Familiarity with one or more of the following: Python, Java, shell script, groovy or Scala
- Knowledge on Agile methodologies
- Exposure to UNIX / Linux, Build Management / SCM,
- Exposure to Oracle SQL, IBM MQ, IBM Connect Direct, IBM WebSphere/WebLogic
- Exposure to load balancing and networking concepts
- ITIL v3 Intermediate Certification
- Exposure to Ansible/Bitbucket/Jenkin along with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment process
- Experience in BFSI domain
