Part of our team of specialists, as the Wealth Advisor, through a comprehensive understanding of our clients’ wealth and objectives, you will help ensure that their estate, income, tax, philanthropic, and other planning needs on a global basis are identified and met.
Job Responsibilities:
- Serve as an advisor to clients on personal planning matters with respect to a client’s global wealth, assets and activities
- Identify opportunities for the bank to serve in a current or future fiduciary capacity;
- Serve as a resource for international clients and families needing US platform and non-US platform solutions
- Advises generally on matters relating to family governance
- Assist single family offices on issues relating to establishment, expansion, services and other matters
- Help bankers and other team members in developing new and existing business efforts. This entails international and domestic travel
- As a senior marketer, deliver in-market educational presentations to internal and external audiences (including prospects, clients, and PAs), writes and reviews articles for internal and external publication, and is interviewed for articles in trade and general publications, and other media
Required Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills
- Doctor of Law (J.D)
- Extensive experience working with complex international cross border private clients, their families and businesses
- Strong knowledge of U.S. income and transfer tax laws; a working knowledge of international tax treaties with the US and the US taxation of foreign trusts; general knowledge with income tax and transfer tax systems in Latin America; a general familiarity with principles of US immigration, and the ability to apply all such knowledge to client-specific planning situations
- Strong knowledge of individual, fiduciary, corporate and partnership income tax laws, with ability to apply that knowledge to client-specific planning situations;
- Ability to evaluate wealth transfer goals of clients and prospects, identify which of the available techniques are appropriate, explain opportunities to clients and prospects and work with clients and prospects, and their other advisors, to determine best ways to implement
- Ability to partner with clients’ other advisors (principally their attorneys and accountants)
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Sales experience, including: profiling, overcoming objections, negotiating, team-selling approach, closing the sale and bringing in referrals
- Highly respected by professional advisor community
- Demonstrated understanding of other wealth management disciplines, including investing and credit
- Ability to work in a team-based environment
- Fluent in English and Spanish
