- As a Small Cores EPM, you will align, manage and track the HW/SW instances of Apple’s custom non-Application Processor (AP) cores, to ensure a uniform, supportable and auditable flow is exercised across them from the nascent stages of the SoC design until the SoC final revision is intercepted into the platform it was design for.- This requires a deep understanding, through partnership with the various partners, of the numerous IP's in the SoC, the need/support/timelines/availability of the SW lineage that is required across each of the chosen custom small cores.- You will coordinate activities across multi-functional partners in SoC Architecture and Core SW, to ensure the SW/FW framework that supports the small cores is warranted and optimized for the SoC’s performance and area.- You will manage risks/mitigation/schedules/timelines for transitions of the existing cores architectures (if warranted) to the newer open-source architectures, such as RISCV, with multi-functional teams in a very meticulous fashion. Institutional knowledge for open-source architectures for designing custom processors is a plus.- You will develop processes and aid in the vital debug supported around verifying the SW/FW lineage for these custom cores in a SW simulated environment and in the respective RTL code environment.
