About the role:

The Principal Advanced Development Engineer will have a collaborative role in the design and development of novel algorithms and tools for cutting-edge medical applications in the field of Cardiac Electrophysiology. The primary responsibilities include: ideating novel concepts, rapidly prototyping solutions, creating and analyzing technical data, optimizing for implementation and communicating high level data-driven decisions.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Design and develop novel processing algorithms applied to biological signals and images (i.e. feature extraction, classification, etc)

  • Drive a project through research, development and feasibility assessment in preparation for implementation

  • Design Develop, optimize and implement AI solutions for complex problems considering accuracy, efficiency, and scalability, and continuous monitoring

  • Produce maintainable code and technical documentation.

  • Effectively collaborate across disciplines (HW, Software, Systems, and ME) to focus on and maximize end-to-end solution value

  • Play an active role in the cross-functional/departmental effort of defining the clinical feature value proposition

  • Provide technical leadership on a high performing motivated team

  • Stay current with industry trends and new metholodgies including artificial intelligence and machine learning

Requirements:

  • Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics or equivalent with at least 5 years of product development experience in a commercial environment.

  • Experience training AI models using various techniques and tools.

  • Domain Expertise in Computer Vision, Geometric Computing, and Machine Learning algorithms, including supervised, unsupervised, and reinforcement learning.

  • Creative Solution oriented mindset

  • Knowledge of basic algorithms, object-oriented and functional design principles, and best-practice patterns

  • Strong background in mathematics (e.g., linear algebra, statistics, optimization)

  • Demonstrated proficiency in C++, MATLAB/Python or equivalent for prototyping, modeling, data analysis and application development

  • Experience in modern Source Code Management (SCM) tools such as git or AccuRev.

  • Ability to work with ambiguity to balance risk and opportunity.

  • Passion for developing talent, mentoring, and building high-performance teams.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of conveying technical information in a clear and thorough manner

  • Demonstrated history of learning new platforms and development environments to best meet project needs.
