Your responsibilities include:
- Creating engineering requirements, test protocols, and test environments for our next-generation neuromodulation devices
- Developing robust Python code to verify the quality of medical-grade embedded software
- Collaborating with other engineering functions to innovate novel design & test methodologies
- Collaborating with broader commercial teams to ensure R&D innovation translates into project execution
- Documenting engineering processes clearly and concisely following best practices
- Analyzing BSC methodologies with peers and cross-functional groups to continuously enhance quality and work processes.
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering or related engineering field.
- 3+ years of work experience developing and testing embedded software devices
- Experience creating engineering requirements, test protocols, and test environments for formal verification/validation of medical-grade software or other highly regulated software
- Experience developing software in Python, including package management, data analytics, and object-oriented design
- Experience developing embedded software (C/C++) on microcontroller and system-on-chip devices
- Experience working with benchtop tools (i.e. power supply, oscilloscope, function generator etc.) for electrical device development/verification
- Experience working cross-functionally (i.e. Electrical/ASIC/Systems Engineering, Quality, Regulatory) on inter-disciplinary problems
- Experience communicating technical topics effectively with individual contributors, functional management, and senior leadership
- Experience documenting engineering development processes with concise reports, memos, and change requests following best practices and standards.
- Willingness to work hybrid (3 days per week on-site in Valencia)
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience with source control, project management, and CI/CD tools (Git, Bitbucket, JIRA, Jenkins)
- Experience with PCB schematic design and layout, particularly in Altium/OrCAD
- Experience planning work-breakdown structures and working with project management to execute to functional milestones
- Experience working on Class-III/Class-II medical devices or in a similar safety-critical regulated environment (i.e. aerospace, automative)
- Experience with medical device industry standards such as IEC 62304
