About the Role

- - - - What the Candidate Will Do ----

1. Work closely with a broad range of stakeholders to convert business needs into scalable, cross-functional solutions.
2. Collaborate with backend and cross-platform engineers to design and deliver key features for the identity platform.
3. Build seamless and user-friendly native Android interfaces using modern frameworks and backend integrations.
4. Partner with Data Science, Design, and Product teams to monitor feature performance and iteratively enhance the user experience based on insights.
5. Coordinate with various Uber product teams and lines of business to leverage the platform in addressing complex challenges.

- - - - Basic Qualifications ----

1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a closely related discipline—or equivalent hands-on experience.
2. 3+ years of hands-on experience building Android applications in a professional setting.
3. Skilled in developing Android apps using Java and/or Kotlin.
4. Deep understanding of the Android SDK, with expertise in its core libraries, tools, and frameworks.
5. Demonstrated ability to monitor, analyze, and optimize the performance of Android applications over time.
6. Experience software development lifecycle, from ideation and design to thorough testing and production release.

- - - - Preferred Qualifications ----

1. Experience in areas of Authentication, Security, Cryptography, Identity Management, Authorization, and Access Control
2. Experience with OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SAML, X.509, and other standard authentication protocols.
3. Excellent documentation, communication, and collaboration skills.

For Sunnyvale, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$198,000 per year - USD$220,000 per year.
