About the Role
You’ll drive end-to-end deal execution for high-impact accounts, from international retail brands to multi-country deals, navigating operational, commercial, and cross-functional challenges. Your role will go far beyond sales: you’ll act as a strategic advisor, an internal orchestrator, and a growth enabler, working with stakeholders across product, operations, legal, and marketing to deliver tailored solutions that scale.
In this role, you’ll also play a dotted-line leadership role, supporting and mentoring junior team members across the region, helping them grow their skillsets while ensuring alignment on execution. This is a rare opportunity to take ownership of a strategic vertical at a European level while maintaining deep involvement in on-the-ground commercial success.
What You Will Do
- Lead Strategic Business Development: Identify, target, and convert high-value retail prospects (non-grocery) across France, Belgium, and Switzerland. Develop tailored acquisition strategies for complex accounts involving international or multi-country scope.
- Own the End-to-End Sales Cycle: From first pitch to final signature, lead all commercial negotiations and stakeholder alignment across internal and external teams.
- Design and Execute High-Complexity Deals: Work cross-functionally with Operations, Product, Legal, Marketing, and Finance to build scalable, sustainable partnership models adapted to each partner’s specific needs.
- Manage Complex Operational Rollouts: Ensure smooth implementation and scalable go-live for high-impact partners by aligning local operations and regional strategies.
- Be a Strategic Partner: Act as a trusted advisor to your partners, offering data-driven insights and custom solutions to accelerate their growth on the platform.
- Cross-Regional Collaboration: Collaborate with teams across EMEA to align on deal structure, brand positioning, and operational processes when deals span multiple countries.
- Team Leadership (Dotted-line): Act as a mentor and point of coordination for more junior Account Executives within the Retail sales team. Drive alignment and provide guidance on best practices.
- Represent Uber Eats: Act as a senior ambassador of our Retail vertical, embodying our brand and mission in every external interaction.
What You Will Need
- 6+ years of experience in sales, business development, or partnerships, ideally in retail, tech, marketplaces, or consulting, with demonstrated success closing complex deals.
- A track record of leading high-impact commercial negotiations and building multi-stakeholder relationships, ideally with enterprise or international accounts.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills: you can translate data into insights and business opportunities.
- Fluent in French and English, both written and spoken; Dutch is a plus.
- Strong project management skills: ability to lead cross-functional initiatives in fast-paced environments.
- Natural leadership and ability to influence without formal authority, previous experience mentoring or coordinating peers is a strong plus.
- Excellent communication skills: able to pitch compelling narratives to C-level stakeholders and tailor messaging to different audiences.
- Proactive, structured, and entrepreneurial mindset; you thrive in ambiguity and love solving big, complex problems.
- Comfortable with tools like Salesforce, Excel, and data dashboards (Tableau, Looker, etc.).
