You'll be helping design Akamai's Anomaly Detection system and its scan modules to enable security researchers and security responders to quickly assess the state of Akamai systems at scale. You will participate in hiring Anomaly Detection staff in the United States and in Poland. You will provide leadership and guidance to software engineers and security researchers.

As an Architect Senior, you will be responsible for:

• Keeping up to date with Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures of malware and malware authors as well as other information security adversaries.
• Constructing models of Akamai's distributed systems, using them to design systems for the detection of adversary action.
• Identifying improvements to the scanning infrastructure to allow the detection of additional anomaly types.
• Guiding security researchers as they use these tools, and using their feedback to help shape enhancements to those tools.
• Providing expert advice during security incidents.

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

• Have experience designing systems for security applications.
• Be experienced with complex systems analysis and modeling.
• Have proficiency in defining and deploying YARA rules, Metasploit modules, or similar detection tools.
• Be experienced in building exploit payloads based on vulnerability research
• Be skilled in working with Linux/Unix-like operating systems.
• Have experience in Python and shell scripting.
• Demonstrate familiarity with Internet protocols including TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, TLS/SSL.
