The Role
Senior Systems Development Engineers / Automated Test Engineers at Project Kuiper spearhead the development and deployment of highly integrated systems. As a Senior ATE engineer, you will be the dedicated owner of a hardware test platform, responsible for driving and automating hardware-in-the-loop testing. In this role, you'll design scalable and flexible test systems that evolve with project needs, significantly reduce test time, and develop user-friendly tools enabling non-technical operators to manage test apparatus. Success is measured by your ability to generate clear, accurate, and comprehensive test reports, collaborate closely with lead hardware engineers to seamlessly integrate PCB designs into automated test environments, and make daily high-value judgments balancing tactical and strategic decisions. You'll be expected to meet system performance targets while adapting quickly to maintain schedules despite unexpected challenges. - Optimize test processes to significantly reduce test time
- Develop user-friendly tools enabling non-technical operators to manage test apparatus
- Generate clear, accurate, and comprehensive test reports- Make daily high-value judgments, balancing tactical and strategic decisions to meet system performance targets
- Adapt quickly to maintain schedules despite unexpected challengesImplementing, validating, and optimizing digital/analog lab set-ups composed of high-speed PCBA, measurement equipment, and prototype equipment. Configuring test equipment for automated operation: oscilloscope, power supplies, electronic loads, data acquisition systems, spectrum analyzer, signal generator, etc.- Planning and coordinating feature improvements and upgrades.
- Analyzing and improving availability, efficiency, capacity, scalability, security and performance of our services.
- Developing and maintaining tools.

- Experience with Linux/Unix
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering or equivalent
- 5+ years relevant work experience.
- 5+ years of experience in Electrical Hardware design and/or verification
- Experience in designing automated test systems with robotics
- Experience with designing end to end hardware-in-the-loop (HITL) systems
- Experience in programming language such as Python, Java, C++ or Shell.
- Experience with professional software engineering practices and industry best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.

- 7+ years relevant work experience.
- 7+ years of experience in Electrical Hardware design and/or verification
- 7+ years of experience in integrated HW/SW systems
- Experience in the Automation of advanced test equipment and data / report generation
- Experience in managing complex build systems within Continuous Integration setup.
- Knowledge of Jira/ Confluence administration and development
- A strong understanding of the importance of data-driven decisions as well as how to create, store, and analyze large datasets.
