The Systems Software Engineer will work with colleagues both inside and outside of the FileProvider team to deliver software features and bug fixes. You’ll work with operating system engineers, framework engineers, internal and external application developers, and more. You’ll be responsible for the quality of your features, working with QA teams and writing your own test automation. This role necessitates daily collaboration with partners and colleagues in California and other locations.Responsibilities Include:Work with stakeholders to understand requirements for new features.Discuss with the relevant teams about the code architecture.Write the code to implement that architecture.Use test automation to verify the implementation.Screen incoming bug reports.Analyze source code and logs to identify potential causes of the bug, attempt to reproduce.Write a test for, and fix, the root cause of the bug.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent industry experience.
- Experience in C-based programming languages (C/C++)
- Understanding of Operating Systems fundamentals.
- Experience attaching to and debugging a process.
- Experience in Objective-C or Swift.
- Experience with resource-constrained development, database performance work, parallelism, inter-process communication.
- Familiarity with at least one of these topics: sync, backup, database replication, file system replication, indexing, or search.
