Role Overview/What will you do:
- This role will provide a unique opportunity to gain exposure to different asset classes in a Tier 1 investment bank.
- Working with the Trading Businesses and Quants to deliver large-scale projects
- Review and analyze proposed technical solutions for projects
- Contribute to formulation of strategies for applications development and other functional areas
- Develop comprehensive knowledge of how areas of business integrate to accomplish business goals
- Drive adoption of new quant models including validation of Risk valuations
- Provide evaluative judgment based on analysis of factual data in complicated and unique situations
- Impact the Applications Development area through monitoring delivery of end results
- Ensure essential procedures are followed and contribute to defining standards negotiating with external parties when necessary
- Improving development processes including testing deliverables and reviewing Controls
Key Skills and Experience required -This section is about the candidate.
- Extensive experience in Applications Development role within the Rates domain and/or Risk management
- Proven knowledge of SDLC and Trade lifecycle
- Proficiency in Java, python and/or advanced SQL, with a good understanding of IT fundamentals
- Demonstrated capability to develop and maintain effective work relationships with front-office stakeholders
- Proven people management experience
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Knowledge of industry practices and standards
- Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication
Education:
- Degree educated (Master’s preferred) in a comp science, mathematics discipline or experience operating in a similar role
