As a Sourcing Engineer, you will support activities to execute power interconnection and energy supply agreements. You will also lead the evaluation of energy markets, electric power rates, tariffs, and regulations or policies critical to power delivery and sustainability. And you will develop and provide financial analytics to support business reviews and recommendations on cost effective power agreements to CO+I leadership.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Materials Science, or related field AND 1+ year(s) experience in energy, procurement, supply chain, sourcing, engineering, operations, or relevant sales-related roles.
  • Business level fluency to read, write and speak Spanish or Portuguese.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Materials Science
    • OR related field AND 3+ years experience in procurement, supply chain, sourcing, engineering, operations
    • OR relevant sales-related roles
    • OR Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Materials Science
    • OR related field AND 5+ years experience in procurement, supply chain, sourcing, engineering, operations
    • OR relevant sales-related roles
    • OR equivalent experience.

Responsibilities
  • Model and analyze energy supply agreements, electric power markets, and financial forecasts needed to support power sourcing strategies in the United States to ensure optimized power costs, and support regular business reporting to finance, legal, and other infrastructure, planning and acquisition teams.
  • Support the negotiation of energy supply agreements and electric tariffs to secure power infrastructure while also delivering on Microsoft’s sustainability commitments.
  • Support and develop business authorization documentation for CO + I leadership to secure Finance, Legal, and other cross-functional team support on data center energy infrastructure contracts and delivery strategies.
  • Support data center energy initiatives through due diligence and internal business reviews.
  • Route, track, review, and monitor key contracts, agreements, and other instruments needed to support our energy strategy.
