Applied Materials’ is looking to recruit an outstanding engineer to support its computational modeling group. In this role, you will develop state-of-the-art models that leverage multi-physics simulation tools as well as AI/ML algorithms to characterize the complex environment in Applied Materials’ products and work closely with engineers across multiple business units to develop new solutions to difficult problems. You will work closely with design and process engineers to enhance existing products as well as play a key role in the development of next-generation chambers and processes.

Required Qualifications

  • M.S/PhD (New College Graduate) inMechanical/Electrical/Aerospace/ChemicalEngineering or related field graduating by June 2025
  • Experience with one of the following
    • developing or using commercial/academic computational plasma modeling tools (e.g. HPEM, ACE+, VizGlow, Comsol, VSim)
    • developing or using commercial/academic flow-thermal simulation tools (e.g. Ansys Fluent, Ace+, Comsol)
  • Coursework and hands-on experience in machine learning / statistics / design of experiments / reduced order modeling / surrogate model development
  • Proficient in programming using (Python / Matlab / C/C++ )
  • An analytical mindset with great attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
