As a data scientist with the AWS Support Product team, you will be shaping the way product performance is measured, defining what questions should be asked, and scaling analytics methods and tools to support our growing business, leading the way for high quality, high velocity decisions for your team. You will leverage your strong background in Data Science and Machine Learning to enable efficient, data-driven decision. This role requires a pragmatic technical leader who is comfortable navigating ambiguous environments and is capable of effectively summarizing complex data analysis and modeling results through clear verbal explanations and written documentations.Topics include (but are not limited to):1. Key job responsibilities
- Interact with product managers, business teams, and engineering teams to develop an understanding and domain knowledge of business requirements, processes and system structures.
- Distill ambiguous product or strategy questions, find clever ways to answer them, and to measure the uncertainty; translate product and strategy questions into metrics, and work with BIEs to dashboard these metrics.
- Design and evaluate A/B tests and experiments to measure the effectiveness of front-end product improvements and algorithmic machine learning systems.
- Lead the project plan from a scientific perspective on product launches including identifying key milestones, potential risks and paths to mitigate risks.

- 4+ years of data scientist or similar role involving data extraction, analysis, statistical modeling and communication experience
- Bachelor's degree, or Master's degree
- 5+ years of data querying languages (e.g. SQL), scripting languages (e.g. Python) or statistical/mathematical software (e.g. R, SAS, Matlab, etc.) experience
- Experience with statistical models e.g. multinomial logistic regression

- 2+ years of data visualization using AWS QuickSight, Tableau, R Shiny, etc. experience
- Experience as a leader and mentor on a data science team
- Master's degree in a quantitative field such as statistics, mathematics, data science, business analytics, economics, finance, engineering, or computer science
- Experience in forecasting analyses
