Your impact

Based at the project site in Saudi Arabia, as Project Engineer you will manage both internal and external interfaces (Internal stakeholders & external Client), collaborating with project teams whilst representing the engineering scope.

The requirements for this position, will require the individual to:

  • Have a good understanding of consultancy scope of services for Power Plant projects (Renewable energy and/or Thermal Power Plants).
  • Effectively coordinate between project manager and discipline engineers and the client for overall coordination of function specification.
  • Provide bid submission support activities including project schedule, costing and overall bid compilation.
  • Monitor project progress including leading coordination of meetings with deliverables status.
  • Monitor of engineering activities and change orders ensuring deliverables on time, on quality and on budget and compliant with Jacobs procedures.
  • Provide clear communication to his/ her project team and peers, and the project as well as the leadership team.
  • Lead technical issue resolution to the satisfaction of internal stakeholders.
  • Participate in final technical contract negotiations, supports the tender negotiation team, when required.
  • Review, analyse and lead the engineering team in respect of contractual requirements (specifications, codes and standards for the design).
  • Based on the review, identify the need for additional design review or support from, and/or for additional resources.
  • Coordinate and communicate the project specific tool set-up to the team and ensures application across the team.
  • Contribute to the preparation of reports and other presentations required for Client or internal communication.
Here's what you'll need

To be successful for this position it is highly preferable that you already have experience within the Energy and Power industry. We can also consider individuals with major project execution experience in a complex plant processing facility (this could be water). You will need to be degree qualified in an Engineering discipline.

You will have the following experience:

  • You will have had sufficient exposure in project management controls and possess project management qualities with a track record involved in all facets of project management; from bid preparation and Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) to Engineering, Procurement Construction, Installation and Commissioning (EPCIC) project executions.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of project scopes of work, budgets, schedules, including project reporting.
  • Experience with direct client interface and contract management.
  • Knowledge and experience with project management processes and tools.
  • Strong writing and verbal communications skills.
  • Proactively drives collaboration and communication of changes in deliverables, internally and externally.
  • Supports project claim negotiations and prepares the relevant documentation and facts,
  • Review and clarify, support site technical issues and expediate resolution.
  • Sustainability, resiliency and/or climate adaptation experience a plus but not a requirement.
