is seeking a Manager, International Tax ComplianceNew York Cityto supportThe Manager, International Tax Compliancebe responsible fortax reporting and complianceincluding, butnot limited to preparation and review of income tax provisions, preparation of income tax returns, and preparation and review of various tax projects.focus for this position is international, but certain involvement inarea is expected.

This position will be on a hybrid schedule requiringdays per week onsite in the

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • in reviewing and analysis of foreign income tax provision reporting for all foreign subsidiaries in the Sony Corporation of Americaconsolidatedgroup (including subsidiaries in foreign joint ventures)

  • Reviewing updates of pre-tax income/income tax for tax budgets, forecast and forecast updates for all foreign subsidiaries

  • Prepare income tax returns as required by the Internal Revenue Service (5471, 5472, 5713, 8858, 8865 & 1120F)

  • Maintain the Tax basis for all foreign subsidiaries

  • Calculate income inclusions as required by the Internal Revenue Code [Subpart F] and aware of US tax reform impacts such as, GILTI and 163j.

  • Update and estimate earnings and profits of all foreign subsidiaries, maintaintax paid pools, as well as compute tested income or loss

  • Calculate available foreign tax credit for the Sony Corporation of America consolidatedgroup (Form 1118)

  • Manage the foreign undistributed earnings

  • Perform International compliance research and tax planning as required

  • Interact with business units as tax liaison to ensure that all material tax issues are identified, and tax benefits/costs/risks are evaluated and addressed

  • Coordinate and assistwith Parent company accounting group’s requests

  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Honesty, trustworthinessand ethical conduct are material requirements for the responsibilities outlined above

Your qualifications and experience should include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Financeandminimumof 6 years International Tax Experience in Public Accounting and/or Private Industryisrequired.

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and/or Master’s degree in taxation, or equivalent experience is desired

  • Federal and state income tax experience is a plus

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and high degree of accuracy and ability to meet deadlines in a time sensitive environment

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.)

  • Hands on working knowledge of Corptaxor similar tax software

  • Entertainment industry knowledge a plus

  • Must work well as an individual contributor and be a team player

  • All candidates must be authorized towork in the United States

annual base salary for this position is $135,000 to $145,000. This range does not include any other compensation components or other benefits that an individual may be eligible for. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
