Job Summary:
In this role, you will collaborate and lead activities of the cross functional teams comprising technical experts within the R&D function, across West’s products portfolio, focusing on drug delivery. You will require to demonstrate creative skills in a dynamic environment along with an engineering expertise attitude. You are expected to participate in the development of multi-disciplinary product involving mechanical, plastic, metal and electronics design.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Making conceptual design, detailed design, CAD modeling and prototyping
- Utilize design analyses tools by applying principles of mechanics, and materials engineering including theoretical calculations for components fit, tolerance analysis and stress calculations.
- Writing of technical protocols, product specs, tests methods and presentations related to design activities.
- Performing and/or supervising evaluation, feasibility, and engineering testing of new and existing products, writing and/or approve tests reports.
- Provide the team and the project a source of knowledge and utilize experience to support team members & drive decisions.
- Conducting and supporting failure investigations by utilizing standard methods such as fish-bone diagram
- Work closely with internal interfaces (Engineering, QA, HF and RA groups) as well as external interfaces such as other groups across the organization
- Interface with West customers (e.g., pharmaceutical and biotech companies) as needed in development agreement, for activities led by mechanical engineering team.
- Support industrialization and manufacturing activities, develop and design products assembly, special tooling, and fixtures.
- Manage and work with subcontractors that support product development and production.
Basic Qualifications:
- Education- B.sc in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years related experience in products design.
- Proficiency in 3-D CAD software such as SolidWorks
- Experience with mechanism design
- Experience with design for manufacturability (DFM)
- Experience with medical devices design
- Knowledge and experience in stack-up analysis

- Knowledge in plastic part design, sheet metal components, mechanical assembly, injection molding and other manufacturing processes
- Knowledge in assembly processes
- Knowledge in PCB manufacturing
- Must be proficient (verbal and written skills) in English. Hebrew is an advantage.
- Experience with medical industry standards
- Experience with plastic injections, molds, and parts design
- Experience with sheet metal parts design
- Experience with writing design requirements, engineering test protocols and reports etc.
- Experience in developing test methods for engineering verification tests.
Must be able to travel up to 20% of the time.
