Full-time 3rd Shift (8:00pm-6:30am) Sunday – Wednesday

The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As a Chemical Operator, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Knows and understands all machine safety requirements
  • Hazardous waste operations training as per OSHA requirements
  • Clean, inspect, and assemble mix head (performing repairs as required)
  • Set up chemical modules and calibration of chemical streams
  • Responsible for preparing and performing wet end changeovers
  • Monitor and adjust a variety of run parameters during foam casting at the wet end to ensure product quality
  • Responsible to make process changes as instructed by the chemists or line leaders
  • Responsible to identify and initiate shutdown procedures in the event of a process upset condition that could result in a hazardous condition
  • Records substrate lot numbers, run times, environmental logs, and production reporting data
  • Assists in mounting and splicing of substrates
  • Perform SAP transactions as required
  • Performs preventive maintenance checks on equipment as required and report equipment malfunctions or unusual conditions to supervisor
  • Maintain and flush chemical modules and chemical stream filters and strainers as necessary
  • Operate PIV, scales, overhead hoists, and hand tools
  • Handle chemical waste in accordance with all applicable federal and local environmental laws and regulations
  • Follow all quality procedures to meet ISO / TS 16949 Quality Management System and customer requirements as well as all environmental procedures to meet ISO 14001 Environmental Management System requirements.

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Possess a High School Diploma / GED or higher (completed prior to start)
  • 3+ years experience working with chemicals and chemical waste
  • Experience using SAP
