The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As a Business Supply Chain Engineer supporting Electrical Markets Division (EMD), you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Focusing on the EMD Cable Accessories Portfolio
  • Supporting New Product Introduction work by partnering with division cross-functional teams on design for manufacturability, service, product & process capability, and cost effectiveness to ensure successful development, scale-up and launch
  • Collaborating across functions and global manufacturing plants to improve end-to-end global supply chain efficiency and performance
  • Leading and supporting continuous improvement projects in service, quality, cost and cash
  • Partnering with Global Manufacturing Technology and Enterprise Operations organizations to identify, justify, and deploy technology advancements.
  • Ensuring long-range capacity plans, supply chain architecture and network will enable growth with acceptable service and inventory levels.
  • Willingness to maintain flexible hours and travel to support manufacturing and value stream improvement across global manufacturing operations.

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering or Science (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
  • Five (5) years of combined experience in one or more of the following: process engineering, product engineering, manufacturing engineering, or capital project engineering in a private, public, government or military environment
  • Current, valid Driver’s License

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Eight (8) or more years of combined work experience in Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain or R&D in a private, public, government or military environment
  • Experience in cable accessories manufacturing
  • Experience in new product scale up and launch
  • Experience leading and supporting global teams
  • Proficiency in continuous improvement problem solving methodologies
  • Experience using statistics to analyze and improve processes
  • Experience leading capital equipment installation and scale-up projects
  • Experience product engineering and support
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

Work location:

  • Hybrid Eligible (Job Duties allow for some remote work but require travel to 3M Center in St Paul, global plant locations and/or supplier locations at least 1-3 days per month)
