Control Management (CM) maintains a strong and consistent control environment across the firm. With Control Managers appointed for each Line of Business, Function and Region, there is a comprehensive coverage and joint accountability model with the business executive that promotes early operational risk identification and assessment, effective design and evaluation of controls, and sustainable solutions to mitigate operational risk. Control Management focuses on four areas:
• Business risk and control identification/assessment
• Control design and performance; Control KPIs
• Control breaks and issue resolution
• Control management governance & reporting
As a D&A Control Management Associate, you'll be responsible for ensuring the line of business has a sustainable and disciplined end-to-end control environment, identifying and escalating issues with a sense of urgency, and partnering with the Business to ensure issues are remediated in a timely manner. The team assists in top-down risk analysis, real-time control issue detection, escalation, root cause analysis, and remediation. This position will have cross Line of Business (LOB) responsibilities.
Job Responsibilities:
- Partnership with stakeholders, evaluate and perform an end-to-end analysis of the business’ risk and control environment to identify significant gaps and weaknesses and determine root cause of control breaks
- Ensure that controls are properly designed, operating effectively, and essential to a proactive risk and control culture that leverages proven evaluation strategies and sound change management protocols
- Perform ongoing analysis of program related data (e.g., KRI/KPI) and develop ad-hoc reports as requested to support business-related programs and strategies
- Assist with development of Risk & Control Self-Assessment mapping and documentations through participation in end-to-end process walkthroughs and deep dives with assigned business units
- Support the Global Data Risk Management team in meeting regulatory requirements and adhering to the Firmwide Policies
- Provide day-to-day support for execution of CCB Risk Areas that sit within the CDO
- Interface with CCB and Global Business, Compliance, Legal, Risk, and Control partners to meet current and emerging challenges
Required Qualifications, Skills and Capabilities:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
- 3+ years of experience in financial services industry with background in controls, audit, quality assurance, operational risk management, or compliance; or equivalent subject matter expertise in a relevant business related function/operation
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Effective collaborator, with a proven ability to forge strong relationships
- Strong independent decision making and critical thinking skills
- Ability to support and work through an agile environment and motivate stakeholders through change
