As a Wealth Management Solutions, Mineral Asset Property Manager Vice President within J.P. Morgan’s Global Trusts & Estates practice, you will be responsible for managing clients’ mineral interests as fiduciary for Trust, Agency, and Foundation accounts holding oil, gas, and minerals. This includes providing land management and oversight of oil and gas assets held in these entities. You should have some knowledge of trust management as well as fiduciary oversight as related to oil and gas assets. You will be responsible for overseeing a book of accounts with mineral assets and will work closely with fiduciary officers to ensure that client-related issues are addressed and all aspects of the oil and gas assets are understood as part of the entire relationship.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lease negotiations, sale of assets, inspections of properties, annual reviews, and payment of ad valorem taxes.
  • Reviewing and approving WI joint interest billings and authorizing expenses.
  • Analyzing cash flows and well activity to ensure proper and timely payment of revenues.
  • Working with landmen, operators, and regulatory agencies on oil and gas contracts, leases, and related agreements.
  • Researching, reviewing, analyzing, and interpreting land-related documents to manage and conduct business on behalf of our clients.
  • Reviewing and curing title.
  • Preparing and presenting client presentations and attending client meetings with the trust officers and bankers.
  • Actively participating in new business opportunities by partnering with client advisors and engaging with clients and prospects.
  • Maintaining appropriate fiduciary risk management processes with the appropriate level of review and oversight.

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • 5+ years in-house landman experience with an E&P company or mineral management company.
  • Title curative work.
  • Proven negotiation skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Proficient in Microsoft computer applications.
  • Familiar with Enverus, TRRC, OCC, and other state regulatory websites and resources.
  • Exceptional ability to serve in a “client-facing” role, including initial prospect meetings and day-to-day client service, advice, and execution.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Advanced degree such as JD is a plus.
  • RPL designation preferred; CPL designation is a plus.
