Your day to day:
- You will deliver technical excellence to Core Infra platforms - Load Balancing and Aggregation services team, focused on core networking principles to review setup, build and architect load balancing services across security and availability zones in a hybrid cloud infrastructure.
- Role requires niche technology understanding and in-depth troubleshooting skills to support on-call rotation to keep core aggregation services (Load Balancers and GSLB, DNS, NTP, Mail, SFTP) up and running 24x7 covering IST hours primarily.
- This individual, being a senior member of the engineering team, must be able to lead and influence architecture decisions and mentor peers.
- This role also requires the individual to maintain a healthy on-call rotation (PST daytime hours) available to support these key services.
What do you need to bring:
- Self-directed work style with minimum supervision.
- Ability to work in Agile framework and co-ordinate with a global team in different time zones.
- More than 8 years of experience supporting enterprise infrastructure, networking protocols is required.
- Strong experience with F5 BIG-IP, VMWare AVI Vantage Load Balancers or any other enterprise scale load balancers is a must.
- Solid understanding and expertise of Linux operating system, Unix shell scripting on bash shell required.
- A good understanding of virtualization technologies is highly desirable.
- Working experience in a hybrid cloud environment is required.
- Experience in running DNS at enterprise scale is highly desired.
- Experience managing Infra via enterprise monitoring tools [Splunk, Datadog, OTEL] and ability to write custom scripts/plugins for custom monitoring a plus.
- Strong technical/analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written across all user levels.
- Ability to create simple procedural documents.
- Good team player, self-starter, goal oriented, open-minded, flexible and customer focused.
- Experience supporting enterprise-class monitoring tools fornetwork/systems/applications.
- In-depth understanding of observability and open telemetry logs ingestion, pattern tracing and bottleneck identification.
- An ideal candidate would bring best practices of security and compliance standards to the fleet to address vulnerability management.
- The engineer would come with an automation mindset. Identify the opportunities and address them with in-house/enterprise level automation tools [Ansible, Terraform, Python, Puppet].
- An ideal candidate would take ownership of incident Triage/PIR/RCA meetings.
- Strong understanding of scrum methodologies and derive timebound outcomes from team members.
- Collaborate with peers from other teams/orgs and address common problems via solution engineering
