As a Database Solutions Architect (SA) you will design complete solution architectures based on AWS database services.The Database Specialist SA will collaborate with our customers and partners on key engagements. You will engage with Database Specialists Sellers and other stakeholders supporting sales activities such as customer discovery, ideating, white board solutioning, presenting, educating, leading technical deep dives, and other technical sales support activities for an assigned US division and territory. You will develop and deliver proof-of-concept projects, technical workshops, and support implementation projects in order to develop or migrate Applications from on-premise databases like Oracle/SQL Server to AWS eg. AWS RDS, Aurora-PostgreSQL/MySQL or other Open Source platforms.You will focus on customer solutions such as OLTP/OLAP environments, designing and deploying future state data services and building and/or designing reference configurations to enable our customers and influence AWS RDS, Aurora, DynamoDB and other NoSQL databases adoption.Key job responsibilities
- Champion industry best practices through technical thought leadership content, including AWS blogs, white-papers, and reference architectures
- Present at key industry events including AWS re:Invent, AWS Summit, and other conferences- Provide feedback to AWS product teams on customer specific requirements and act as primary point of contact for urgent customer issues in your technical specialty

- 8+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience
- 3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience
- 10+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience
- Deep knowledge and experience with at least one commercial or open source relational database (e.g. Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL), or non-relational database (e.g. MongoDB, Cassandra, DynamoDB).
- 5+ years of infrastructure architecture, database architecture and networking experience
- Knowledge of software development tools and methodologies
- Experience communicating across technical and non-technical audiences, including executive level stakeholders or clients
- Experience in a technical role within a sales organization
