About the role:
Boston Scientific at Arden Hills is a fast-paced and dynamic environment with a diverse portfolio of technologies and capabilities that require complex problems-solving. With a focus on Capital Equipment and Externals (CEE), the Sr. Manufacturing Engineer applies electrical technical knowledge to identify, implement, and manage requirements for Electrophysiology products, processes, materials, and equipment, while leading initiatives that support safety, quality, service and cost objectives. Under general direction, this role partners with cross functional teams to integrate new products and processes, drive efficiency in production operations, optimize existing practices and ensure materials and equipment meet production goals.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Hands-on troubleshooting to determine the root cause of output or yield constraints across a variety of technical domains (i.e. product vs tester, hardware vs software, component vs assembly) and support daily line performance goals; mentor technical teams in analytical problem solving
- Leading complex manufacturing engineering projects that deliver new and improved products or processes for current and next generation programs to meet strategic goals and objectives
- Consulting on the design and validation of complex electrical fixtures, tooling and test equipment to ensure fit-for-purpose solutions; partner with vendors/suppliers and internal partners to make sound recommendations regarding equipment and processes
- Creating well-defined project plans andcultivating an internal/external network of resources to complete tasks;develop robust contingency plans andlead project teams in achieving goals and objectives effectively and on time
- Developing relationships with R&D and Global Sourcing teams to pursue new development projects and identify cost improvements on existing products; collaborate with cross-functional teams on complex projects to ensure success
- Developing technical expertise in and utilizing engineering and operations methodologies such as DMAIC, Ishikawa, 5S, Six Sigma, Continuous Improvement, and Process Verification & Validation and apply technical knowledge and leadership in key areas of the business
- Preparing reports and presentations to share findings and project updates to senior personnel throughout the plant network and organization
- Serving as a key resource in the selection, orientation, and training of new engineers within the department; mentor and share technical knowledge along with constructive feedback and guidance to junior engineers
- Aligning engineering decisions with business needs and customer focus, anticipating trends and adjusting project plans accordingly
Required qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in any engineering discipline with at least 5 years of experience in manufacturing or process engineering
- Experience solving advanced technical problems with an electrical focus
- Experience managing multiple projects and competing priorities effectively
- Experience using Minitab, LabView, and proficiency with MS Office
- Experience with equipment and process validation
- Proactive with effective problem-solving and analytical skills; ability to navigate ambiguous situations
Preferred qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related discipline
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing complex projects
- Experience working within medical device or similarly regulated industry
- Experience with capital equipment manufacturing or electrical test processes
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to communicate effectively with individuals on all levels (written and verbal)
Maximum Salary: $ 156900
