Job Description:

Gather and translate business data extraction and consumption requirements into technical specifications. Ensure proper data ingestion, curation, and consumption.
Clarify solution designs that support business strategies and analytical initiatives, especially when requirements are unclear.

CUSTOMER

• Lead on complex analysis in an evolving data environment

• Gather, analyze, document and maintain all data requirements related to the business applications, interfaces, and reporting environments in different kinds of data maps

• Apply standards and best practices to ensure that the application’s data is accurate, complete, current, understandable, and accessible

• Work with data owners to define and manage data dictionary / catalog for respective data platforms, systems / servers / applications

• Flow to advice on efforts of data modelers, data warehouse/data integration developers, and data management process in data lakes, database usage and data warehousing

• Adopt, maintain and enhance Enterprise Data Governance related policies, in alignment with TD's Enterprise standards

• Provide thought leadership and insights on emerging data information management solutions and/or frameworks

• Ensure respective programs / policies / practices are well managed, meet business needs, comply with internal and external requirements, and align with business priorities

• Provide leadership in cross-functional / enterprise initiatives as a top expert, helping to identify risk / provide guidance for complex situations across multiple domains

• Keep updated on emerging issues, trends, and evolving regulatory requirements and assess potential impacts

• Maintain a culture of risk management and control, supported by effective processes in alignment with risk appetite

• Collaborate with technology and business teams to ensure alignment and guide successful delivery of datasolutions.

• Facilitate data analysis and investigations for business users and QA teams, assisting with complex issues and validating business cases during development and testing phases

• Provide oversight on business impact post-implementation, ensuring the data solution meets the intended business outcomes during the warrantyperiod.

• Coordinate business requirements with technical teams with an oversight of ensuring smooth integration of data into source code repositories and promoting effective source code managementpractices.

• Lead or participate in business and technical design reviews, ensuring that data architectures meet both operational and businessobjectives.

• Raise and manage change requests in collaboration with business stakeholders, supporting release management processes and ensuring timelydelivery.

• Lead initiatives on data governance and data management by ensuring business requirements align with enterprise data governancepolicies.

• Ensure business metadata and data lineage are well-documented and integrated with enterprise metadata management tools, facilitating better businessunderstanding.

• Adhere to and promote best practices for data security, ensuring both technical and business aspects are protected from commonvulnerabilities.

• Document business requirements and technical decisions, ensuring risks, lessons learned, and enhancement opportunities are communicated effectively across teams.

• Safeguard the organization's interests, identifying and managing business risks, while ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatoryguidelines.

• Stay current on industry trends, expanding knowledge of business processes, data tools, and best practices to improve collaboration between business and technologyteams.

• Enable cross-functional collaboration, sharing knowledge and best practices between business users and technology teams to enhance overall project success.

BREADTH & DEPTH:

• Highly seasoned professional role requiring substantial knowledge / expertise in a complex field and knowledge of broader related areas

• Requires master level conceptual expertise and knowledge for own area of specialty / domain and knowledge of broader related areas

• Primary subject matter expert in multiple areas and consults with clients/or project teams with respect to all aspects of business information management processes and procedures

• Expert level analytical and problem-solving skills and fluent in multiple programming languages

• Works autonomously as a senior/lead on a diverse range of tasks and is relied upon to coach/ educate others

• Manages and directs activities related to analysis, design and support of business information management solutions

• In-depth expertise or experience with big data solutions and familiarity with big data technologies

• Keep abreast of rapid business and technology innovation within business information management field

• Familiar with visualization tools

• Generally reports to a Senior Manager or Executive

EXPERIENCE AND / OR EDUCATION

• Undergraduate degree or Technical Certificate and/or

• 5+ years of relevant experience from a business administration, statistical, mathematical, scientific or financial background

Nice to Haves:

• Prior working experience in a data team

• Knowledge of Commercial business concepts

• Experience in Azure Data Warehouse

• Risk and Regulatory experience (data platforms for Dodd Frank Regulations).
