KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Execute the Social & Environmental Affairs (SEA) Standards, projects and work programs.AuditanddevelopactionplansforsupplierstoensureSEAcompliance.Similarly,supervise the independent monitoring process in the factories.
  • Identify the areas of risk to the workers in the supply chain and to adidas in respect of working conditions. Provide recommendations to mitigate those risks, based on legal obligations and adidas’ Workplace Standards.
  • Engage adidas sourcing organization and factory management in the designated countries to integrate social compliance requirements into the larger business practices of adidas. Ensure all relevant sourcing counterparts are fully briefed in adidas’ Workplace Standards and methods of implementation.
  • Develop and deliver relevant trainings to adidas sourcing team and to the suppliers. Collaborate with SEA Program Operations team related to the indirect supply chain factories.
  • Execute data management, analysis, and reporting to
    1. provide accurate, consistent, and timely information on the SEA program;
    2. track key performance indicators (KPIs) and recommend necessary adjustments or improvements to the SEA program to ensure its success based on the data collected and reviewed;
    3. improve integrity, accuracy, completion, and the timeliness of compliance data;
    4. assess forced labor risks in the designated systems and improve reporting.
  • When required, support Regional Worker Empowerment (WE) Program Lead in managing the implementation of WE Projects in the respective country by briefing suppliers, managing relevant data, tracking of execution and supplier progress on the individual programs.
  • When required, support the Fair Compensation and Gender WGs based on the expectations of the SEA's Leadership team.
  • Manage factory remediation by advising on the improvement plans, negotiating timeframes, sharing experiences and best practices, and helping the factory management to take the right actions to comply with the legal requirements and adidas’ standards.
  • Provide regular updates to the SEA leadership team and the Sourcing team on the status of the suppliers, and SEA Team activities.
  • Convey SEA relevant problems and issues to all concerned parties timely. Provide monthly reports to the leadership team.
  • Be up-to-date on all human rights due diligence, labor, and health, safety, and environment (HSE) legislations within the designated countries and report any updates to the leadership team.
  • Establish contacts and actively engage with local NGOs, Government bodies and professional institutions and other brands to execute the goals of the SEA program.
  • Managetheresolutionofthethird-partycomplaintswithindesignatedcountriesandreport progress in the social compliance database.
  • Carry out special projects, as designated by SEA’s leadership team.
  • Role model leadership to foster a culture of Diversity Equity & Inclusion that strives for an inclusive workplace.
  • When applicable, support the budgeting process for the region.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Data Managementproficient in data analytics and reporting, including but not limited to Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams and Power BI.
  • SolidProject Managementknowledge and experience, including developing and maintaining project plans, providing regular communication and coordination, high priority setting and time management skill.

  • Effectively carry out dialogue with government on labour rights, human rights, occupational health & safety topics where appropriate.

  • Effective in a variety of formal presentations, including but not limited to one-on-one, small, and large groups, with peers, and senior management. Has the ability to take complex information and translate into impactful and compelling messaging, including where appropriate, the use of data visualizations.
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken) and good knowledge of local languages in country of operation.
REQUISITE EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Occupational Health & Safety, Labor Law, Sustainability, Human Rights or related fields.
  • At least 5 years of progressive experience in manufacturing industry with focus on social, labor, health, safety, or environmental compliance.
  • Able to travel to both local and international destinations.
